I look for poetry in seemingly mundane things, common place objects, and domestic chores . Things we do and see as people on a very common level . Subjects that lend themselves to be Metaphors of Psychological tasks.
” Build it up , tear it down ” my intent is to create what I like to call a progressive mural.
This is a piece that evolves and changes in stages in this case to convey a narrative . “Build it up, tear it down” will be documented to create a stop motion animation. Screen printed and drawn images of fire wood on paper will be wheat pasted to the wall . Slowly an image of a pile of firewood will evolve into a bonfire pile . Figures of children will come and go through out the building process. When the bonfire has reached its full size printed images of fire will start appearing , as the fire spreads more firewood will be added . Figures of children will come and go, dancing on the side of the fire. When the fire has consumed the fire wood printed and drawn images of house hold objects will be added
to the fire . As those objects burn more symbolic images will be added to the bonfire.
Figures come and go, and sleep on the side of the fire. the fire will begin to settle and shrink.  Finally a smoldering pile with figures of children standing next to what is left.
This process should take five days, and can be partially done over the weekend
During the event.
